Description
The Pythian Building (also known as the Gillette-Tyrrell Building) was completed around 1930. It was originally intended to have three floors of offices and then a ten story hotel on top. However, in the Stock Market Crash of 1929, Gillette and Tyrrell lost most of their fortune and construction stopped after three floors and the building was sold. This resulted in a grand lobby that has been perfectly preserved because it was never used as a hotel.
