Aloha Lauri, I love your photograph and the looks of this bird. We have them in our yard everyday here on the Hawaiian Island of Moloka'i. I always thought that there was a difference in appearance between the male and female until I saw the title of your photograph. I just looked it up online and the two look alike. The birds that I thought were the female were actually their babies which have a different coloring. I wonder how they tell each other apart, must be a bird thing?
